Hybrid Press-Fit Products
Hybrid press-fit terminals contain two engineered termination types, one on either end. A press-fit connection on the one end allows a solderless connection to the PCB, while the engineered connection on the other end can be a tuning fork contact for a blade, an insulation displacement contact (IDC) for unstripped wire, or a crimp wing contact for stripped wire. All hybrid press-fit terminals are stamped from high-strength CuNiSi copper alloy material.

Hybrid Press-Fit IDC Terminal Options
Gap “A” is designed to accept the mating wire.

Magnet wire gauge for 0.8mm thick Hybrid IDC/Press-fit Terminal:
​
AWG 12 A=1.50mm
AWG 14 A=1.10mm
AWG 16 A=0.82mm
AWG 18 A=0.74mm
​
Current rating is up to 40A.
​
For 0.64mm thick Hybrid IDC/Press-fit terminals, magnet wire gauge is as follows:
​
AWG 20 A=0.60mm
AWG 22 A=0.47mm
​
Current rating is up to 25A.
Terminal height-above-board, “B”, can range from 5mm to 25mm.

Hybrid Press-Fit Tuning Fork Terminal Options
Gap “A” is designed to accept the mating blade.

Blade acceptable thickness for 0.8mm thick Hybrid Press-Fit Tuning Fork Terminal:

a) 1.1mm to 1.25mm
b) 0.9mm to 1.05mm
c) 0.78mm to 0.83mm
​
Current rating is up to 30A.

Blade acceptable thickness for 0.64mm thick Hybrid Press-Fit Tuning Fork Terminal:

a) 0.78mm to 0.83mm
b) 0.58mm to 0.63mm
​
Current rating is up to 25A.
​Terminal height-above-board, “B”, can range from 10mm to 25mm.

Bare wire Ø 0.8mm to Ø 1.2mm
