SUMMARY
This is a high visibility senior management position reporting to President. The mission is to manage and drive the external and internal sales and marketing organization to meet or exceed the company’s growth objectives for bookings and revenues in accordance with the quarterly and yearly sales forecast. This position is also strategic in nature as it has to develop our multi-year strategies for market and industry penetration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position manages and directs the external and internal sales and marketing personnel including outside sales personnel, Regional Sales Managers, Manufacturers’ Representatives, Internal Account Managers, Distribution Managers, and Customer Service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Performs in the role of the North Americas Sales & Marketing leader
• Directly manages the day-to-day activities of the Field Sales organization
• Responsible for the creation of the monthly, quarterly and yearly book/bill plan for each sales region within North America
• Establishes specific goals and objectives for each sales region within North America
• Directs the activities of the regional sales managers
• Administers the monthly tracking and sales data reports
• Approves the hiring and dismissal of Manufacturer Representatives
• Administers the Manufacturer Representatives’ contracts
• Creates and administers the sales incentive/commission program
• Develops strategies and tactics to identify and penetrate new target accounts. These include the following;
o Industry segment focus
o Plan for the Distribution Channel
o Technology Roadmap planning
o Product Development strategies
• Manages the strategic customer list to ensure focused customer support
• Develops close working relationships with strategic customers in order to obtain and maintain Autosplice preferred supplier status.
• Monitors performance to budget and objectives of the overall organization
• Provides leadership and direction to the Marketing, MARCOM, Customer Service, Field Service and Applications departments.
• Approves all personnel changes
• Recommends and approves new product development efforts
• Participates in preparing the strategic plan and the yearly budget
• Is a key member of the executive staff and provides support for the President
• Is in the field visiting customers 25-50% of the time
• Although the position is a North American position, this role will encompass significant global coordination, strategy setting and implementation of common practices

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
15+ years experience in industry related sales and marketing, preferable in the connector industry with one of the leading companies; AMP/Tyco, Molex, Berg, FCI, Methode etc.
Experience within the Automotive industry is required. Experience in the computer, networking, telecommunications and instrumentation market segments is considered very helpful.
A college degree required—a technical undergraduate degree and an MBA is preferable.
The candidate must have a successful track record of past accomplishments in managing a sales organization.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The candidate must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. The candidate must also be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. In addition, the candidate must be able to prepare and give presentations at a high level. This includes presentations to executive management internally and at customers, public groups, and/or boards of directors. This individual must be capable of communicating with and motivating all levels of personnel.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The candidate must be able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, financial results and other mathematical fundamentals to support customer inquiries as well as to develop commission and compensation plans.

Description
SUMMARY
Design innovative products using mechanisms (gears, linkages, cams, etc.) to fit within small spaces yet achieve mechanical advantage. Mechanisms will be matched with SMA (Shape Memory Actuation) technologies to create unique actuator solutions. Visualize proof of concept design approach and successfully carry concept thru prototyping and production phases as required. Emphasis is on “complete product and complex mechanism design” and ability to envision workable cost effective solutions for given applications. Typical applications will be for the industrial, automotive, medical, appliance and consumer markets that currently rely on motor and solenoid solution technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Design and develop new mechanisms and products that take advantage of Shape Memory Alloy wire characteristics.
• Capable of working independently and in team environment.
• Manage project from concept thru production including design of 3D models and 2D drawing tolerance analysis and creation.
• Provide technical direction to other Engineers for their design programs with respect to Design Concept.
• Detail Mechanical Design, Select Materials, Prototyping Methods and Testing and overall technologies to be employed to accomplish the design goals defined by Customers and Product Management.
• Work with Sales, Marketing and Customers to define and prepare Product Development & Performance Specifications. Assist in Technical Sales efforts and make Customer visits as required.
• Prepare proposal and manufacturing drawings using SolidEdge Solid Modeling software. SolidWorks or other software knowledge is acceptable.
• Define performance test programs for Concept and Prototype designs to qualify products to Product Specifications.
• Define quality requirements and manufacturing checks/controls for products developed.
• Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering and Suppliers to provide best solutions for cost and performance.
• Assist in the preparation of cost analyses for program feasibility and justification.
• Prepare design specifications, lessons learned documentation, and “design rules” to assist other Autosplice locations in their design efforts.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis on structural members using COSMOS or other appropriate software, as required, and/or direct other resources to perform proper evaluations.
• Write technical papers and give presentations to Customers and at Industry Conferences as required.
• Provide Technical Leadership in Mechanical Design to other Engineers for their development programs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment will occasionally require that the employee work around exposed moving mechanical parts with the possible risk of electrical shock and other hazards in machines and systems that are under development. Employee is expected to exercise due respect and care to prevent injury to self and others when these hazards exist. Some areas of the facility have high noise levels and the Employee is expected to use provided hearing protection when in these areas. Eye protection is also required in marked areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• A four-year Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent proven experience in the design of electromechanical devices.
• 10 years minimum Engineering experience with full responsibility for product development and documentation efforts for assigned programs.
• Extensive knowledge in the design and manufacturing of parts (housings, mechanisms, cams, linkages, etc.) using processes and materials such as plastic molding, metal stamping, powdered metals, MIM, etc. Prior SMA experience preferred but not required.
• Extensive knowledge and background in Mechanism designs
• Proficient experience in Solid Modeling is required. SolidEdge training will be provided if necessary.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to communicate well in English, both written and verbal forms. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general engineering periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations, supplier catalogs and specifications. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, vendors, and other Company personnel.

• Must be able to use Personal Computers and Engineering & Office Software.
• Should be knowledgeable in applying geometric dimensioning and tolerance schemes to product designs and manufacturing documentation.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid Drivers License and have or be capable of obtaining a valid passport for foreign travel requirements.

SUMMARY
Manage production operations and subcontractors to ensure production goals are met. Plan, prepare and execute production schedules for manufacture of product by performing the following duties. Manage facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital assets. Ensuring attainment of company objectives, production schedules while ensuring product standard are meet and customer service levels are meet.
Plan, organize and direct the plant operations which ensure the greatest effective return on assets through the following:
Oversee the following functions: production management, facilities, planning, material management and storage, and warehousing
Responsible to achieve 100% OTD to scheduled ship date. Identify and implement process improvements to achieve 100% On Time Delivery to scheduled ship dates for product families below 100% goal.
Maintain a listing of lead times by product which is updated and confirmed monthly.
Implement manufacturing cycle time reductions for any product family where published lead times are not at or below industry standards.
Generate 100% quality product with stable, consistent, repeatable and statistically capable processes.
Maintain and adjust work force to meet production schedules by estimating worker hour requirements for completion of the schedule and staffing accordingly.
Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Responsible to ensure adherence to all procedures, set-up requirements and work instructions are in compliance with TS 16949 and ISO 140001.
Responsible to meet product cost objectives through a combination of in-house and external supplier manufactured components and services.
Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assign duties accordingly.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Prepare annual capital equipment plan which is reviewed and updated quarterly.
Responsible to insure all PM Programs are in place and effectively being followed. Review''s PM logs to identify trends, adjust maintenance schedules, and identify and replace inefficient equipment.
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
Maintain time and production records and prepare reports.
Manage inventory planning, receipt, and inventory turns with the objectives to:
a) Minimize in-house inventory.
b) Maximize turns by product family.
c) Avoid creation of E & O.
d) Reduce existing E & O by aggressive substitution and conversion.
Review of plans, by product, to insure schedules can be met.
Review of purchase "releases" to insure timely receipt of product in correct, proportional
quantities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise Supervisors and Leads of multiple shifts. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s policies and applicable laws. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
