Medical

The Insulin Pump portable delivery system (pictured) provides a “freedom of lifestyle” change for diabetics requiring Insulin use. The solution was made possible with the use of a Shape Memory Alloy wire actuator designed and manufactured by Autosplice.

We have also developed a variety of custom latch releasing and latching devices that can provide robust operation and still incorporate all the benefits of a Shape Memory Actuator; low cost, low power, less heat, light weight and quiet operation.

Autosplice offers a multitude of solutions for the medical market including RFI shielding products, battery contacts, stampings, molded interconnects and complex assemblies.

  • ISO 9001

Several regions of Autosplice are proudly certified to ISO 9001, the International Standard for Quality Management Systems (general industry). This certification signifies customers can be confident in the strength of Autosplice’s Quality Management System. ISO 9001 emphasizes process monitoring, top management support for quality, and analysis of data. Certificates can be found on Certificate page below.

  • ISO/TS 16949

Several regions of Autosplice are proudly certified to ISO/TS 16949, the International Standard for Quality Management Systems (automotive industry). This certification signifies customers can be confident in the strength of Autosplice’s automotive Quality Management System. • RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)

Autosplice continually monitors the RoHS compliance of its direct materials in order to manage its impact to both human health and the environment.
Autosplice has the ability to provide customers with RoHS Compliant “lead-free” plated products upon request. However, in order to provide a long-term reliable product with consideration to Tin Whisker mitigation, we must understand end process requirements.
Autosplice Part Numbers that are “tin-lead” plated are not RoHS Compliant. All of our products are manufactured with various Copper Alloy base materials. Copper Alloys containing up to 4% “lead” content are listed as EXEMPT under Section 6 of the RoHS-WEEE Directive ANNEX. In order to achieve RoHS Compliance, we must transition our products from traditional “tin-lead” plating to “lead-free.”

At present, for products being manufactured within a high temperature “lead-free profile” requiring 1-2 reflows, we are recommending 80µin-120µin Nickel underplate with a finish plate of 160µin-240µin Matte Tin. This is the best known industry solution to guard against Tin Whisker growth with minimum reflow processing. If the amount of reflows will exceed this level, we will increase the Tin plating to 200µin-300µin or 300µin-500µin dependent on solder process exposure specifications.

The Hazardous Substances certificate for Autosplice China is available at the top right side of this page. Please contact our Product Management group with your specific process details and requirements, and we will align our engineering documentation accordingly.

  • REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals)

Autosplice continually monitors the REACH compliance of its direct materials in order to manage its impact to both human health and the environment.

  • Ozone Depleting Substances

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulates the import of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODSs) into the US under Title VI of the Clean Air Act. Importing ODSs without proper allowances is an illegal act and could lead to an enforcement action. The EPA’s Protection of Stratospheric Ozone Program includes requirements for reporting, tracking and registration of these substances. To Autosplice’s knowledge, no ODSs are present in any of our products; we are committed to ensuring that remains the case.

  • US Conflict Mineral Law

This law requires US and foreign companies to report and make public the use of “conflict minerals” (columbite-tantalite, cassiterite, wolframite and gold) purchased from any of these ten countries: The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Congo Republic (a different nation than DRC), Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. To Autosplice’s knowledge, no conflict minerals are present in any of our products; we are committed to ensuring that remains the case.

  • C-TPAT

(Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism): C-TPAT is a certification that the US Department of Customs Border Protection offers based on company integrity at the point of entry of products/merchandise to the United States of America (USA). C-TPAT seeks to safeguard the world’s vibrant trade industry from terrorists, maintaining the economic health of the USA and its neighbors. The partnership develops and adopts measures that add security but do not have a chilling effect on trade, a difficult balancing act. The partnership establishes clear supply chain security criteria for members to meet and in return provides incentives and benefits like expedited processing. C-TPAT members are considered low-risk and are therefore less likely to be examined. This designation is based on a company’s past compliance history, security profile, and the validation of a sample international supply chain. Autosplice C-TPAT certifications can be found on Certificate page below.

  • DFARS

(Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement): The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is the principal set of rules in the Federal Acquisition Regulation System. This system consists of sets of regulations issued by agencies of the federal government of the United States to govern the process through which the government purchases (acquires) goods and services. It does not regulate the purchasing activities of private sector firms, except to the extent that parts of it are incorporated into government solicitations and contracts by reference. Nearly every major cabinet-level department has issued supplemental regulations, which often place further restrictions or requirements on contractors. The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) is used by the Department of Defense. At this time DFARS does not apply to Autosplice as Autosplice has no government contracts and does not supply parts, machines or services to any company that deals with weapons or firearms.

  • ITAR

(International Traffic in Arms Regulations): ITAR is a set of United States government regulations that control the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List (USML). These regulations implement the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), and are described in the Code of Federal Regulations. The Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) interprets and enforces ITAR. Its goal is to safeguard US national security and further US foreign policy objectives. Autosplice’s policy is to comply with the applicable export controls and sanctions laws in every jurisdiction in which the company transacts business. In the U.S., for example, these laws include Export Administration Act (including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)); the Arms Export Control Act (including the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR)); and the sanctions laws and regulations administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Regarding the ITAR, Autosplice currently neither manufactures nor exports defense articles, nor does Autosplice provide defense services.

  • NAFTA

(North American Free Trade Agreement): NAFTA is an agreement signed by the governments of Canada, Mexico, and the United States creating a trilateral trade bloc in North America. NAFTA deals with trade relations and required the establishment of a department in each member state to provide information about labor conditions in these three countries. The purpose of NAFTA is to eliminate barriers to trade and investment between the US, Canada and Mexico. This agreement opened the door for open trade, ending tariffs on various goods and services, and implementing equality between the US, Canada and Mexico. NAFTA Certificates of Origin are available by request and updated according to customer requirements.

  • Radioactive Materials

To Autosplice’s knowledge, no radioactive materials are present in any of our products; we are committed to ensuring that remains the case.

  • California Transparency in Supply Chain Act – CA SB 657

Autosplice believes in and is dedicated to the eradication of slavery and human trafficking. Autosplice complies with the laws in the countries in which we operate. We expect that our direct suppliers also comply with the laws related to slavery and human trafficking of their respective countries. We use a risk-based approach to determine the level of verification, auditing, certification, internal accountability, and training that are required. Autosplice has an ethics code to which its employees must adhere or face disciplinary action. We expect the same of our suppliers.

  • Material Declaration

The International Material Data System (IMDS) is a collective, computer-based material data system used primarily by automotive OEMs to manage environmentally relevant aspects of the different parts used in vehicles. IMDS has been adopted as the global standard for reporting material content in the automotive industry. IPC, the Association Connecting Electronics Industries, is an organization whose aim is to standardize the assembly and production requirements of electronic equipment and assemblies. The IPC-175x family of standards establishes a standard reporting format for material declaration data exchange between supply chain participants. Autosplice’s method of material declaration is IMDS, not IPC.1
